4h Banana Bread

Do you have bananas that are about to go bad, but don’t want to waste them? I’ve got a great recipe for 4H banana bread. It’s perfect for your family and friends!
Ingredients-1 cup sugar, 2 cups flour, 3 eggs or 1/2 cup of applesauce, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/4 cup butter or margarine melted in the microwave (optional), 3 teaspoons baking powder, 1 pinch salt. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Melt butter if desired then mix together with eggs until well blended. Mix in dry ingredients starting with sugar and ending with salt. Don’t over stir the mixture – just enough so everything is moistened. Add mashed up bananas and stir until mixed through

½ cup chopped walnuts (Optional)

1 egg

½ teaspoon baking soda

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ cup margarine

5 tablespoons milk

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup white sugar

1 cup mashed bananas

½ teaspoon salt


Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream sugar and butter or margarine. Beat the egg slightly, and mix into the creamed mixture with the bananas. Mix in sifted ingredients until just combined. Stir in milk and nuts. Spread batter into one greased and floured 9×5 inch loaf pan.

Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until top is brown and cracks along the top.
