Amish Friendship Bread I

This blog post is for all of the moms out there looking for a recipe to make with their kids. I found an Amish Friendship Bread Recipe and we made it together as a family! It was so much fun, and we love how our bread turned out. Give this recipe a try if you want to spend time with your children and create something yummy at the same time!

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

? cup vegetable oil

1 cup Amish Friendship Bread Starter (see footnote for recipe link)

½ teaspoon baking soda

1 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

3 eggs

1 ¼ teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 2 (9×5 inch) loaf pans.

In a large bowl, combine the Amish bread starter with oil, eggs, 2 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix well. Pour into prepared loaf pans.

Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes.
