Amish onion fritters

Ingredients

¾ cup of flour
1 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp cornmeal
2 tsp of baking powder
1-2 tsp salt-according to taste
¾ cup of milk
2 ½ cup of chopped onions oil for frying

The process

Step 1: Mix together all the dry ingredients.
Step 2: Add milk and stir together gently until the batter is thickened.
Step 3: Add onions and mix thoroughly until it is even.
Step 4: Heat 1/2 inch oil in a skillet over medium high heat, drop the batter in the hot oil using the tablespoon and flatten slightly.
Step 5: Remove when it is slightly brown on both sides or until it is crisp, drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
