Baked Whole Cauliflower is a healthy and easy way to get your family to eat vegetables. When my kids were little, they would refuse anything green unless it was in a tortilla or covered in cheese. I love that this recipe is so simple and flavorful that my kids will actually eat their veggies!
I’m sharing with you my favorite baked whole cauliflower recipe: warm oven, olive oil, salt and pepper, butter, garlic powder or fresh garlic cloves (optional), lemon juice (optional). I use the entire head of cauliflower but if you want smaller pieces then cut into florets before baking. The best part about this dish? You can season however you want! If you’re feeling spicy add some red chili flakes
prep: 5 mins cook: 40 mins total: 45 mins Servings: 6 Yield: 6 servings
¼ cup margarine, melted
½ cup seasoned bread crumbs
1 large head cauliflower
1 pinch dried oregano
? teaspoon garlic powder
? teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 pinch red pepper flakes
Clean cauliflower, and trim off leaves and any brown spots. Place the whole head of cauliflower into a steamer basket, place the basket in a large pot, and add one inch of water. Cover, and bring to a boil over medium heat. Cook for about 20 minutes or until tender.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a medium bowl, mix together the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, melted margarine. Season with garlic powder, salt, red pepper flakes, and oregano, and mix well. Place the head of cauliflower into a baking dish, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
Bake for about 10 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
