Banana Cream Pie

Banana Cream Pie - AA

I rarely eat bananas unless they are in a dessert! Banana cream pie has always been a favorite of mine and this recipe makes it a little more simple yet still delicious!

1 ⅔ cups of water
3 Tbsp of cornstarch
1 (14 ounce) can of sweetened condensed milk
3 beaten egg yolks
2 Tbsp of butter
1 tsp of vanilla
1 (9 inch) baked pie crust
3 sliced medium bananas

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit

In a bowl, mix together the cornstarch and water until smooth and mix in the sweetened condensed milk and egg yolks until well combined. Stir in 2 Tbsp. of butter, the vanilla, and cool slightly while stirring occasionally.

Pour half of the filling on the baked crust and layer banana slices over it.

Pour the second half of the filling and top with meringue.

Place in oven only until the top is browned!
