Who doesn’t like hummus? It’s quick and easy to make, you can add it to sandwiches or wraps, serve with veggies for a healthy snack, or eat it all by itself. This Basil and Pesto Hummus is made with fresh basil pesto instead of the traditional garbanzo beans (chickpeas). You get an extra punch of flavor from the basil and garlic in this recipe that makes this hummus a favorite in our home! It tastes delicious when paired with pita chips for dipping too. Enjoy!

1 tablespoon olive oil

½ cup basil leaves

1 (16 ounce) garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drained and rinsed

½ teaspoon balsamic vinegar

½ teaspoon soy sauce

1 clove garlic

salt and ground black pepper to taste


Combine the garbanzo beans, basil, and garlic in a food processor; pulse several times. Use a spatula to push mixture from sides of processor bowl. Pulse the mixture again while drizzling in the olive oil. Add the vinegar and soy sauce; pulse until combined. Season with salt and pepper.
