Bread Machine Cardamom Bread

Bread Machine Cardamom Bread

It’s been a while since I’ve made bread. It’s not that I don’t enjoy it, but life can get so busy and sometimes we just need to take time for ourselves. But when the kids were starting back up in school and the fall weather was finally here, I decided to make a loaf of cardamom bread with my new Bread Machine. It took me back to my childhood days when mom would always have fresh baked goods on hand for us kids after school or dinner. The smell of freshly baked bread is something that will never go away from our memories as children! In this blog post, you’ll learn how easy it is to make your own delicious homemade bread with minimal effort using your new favorite kitchen appliance: the Bread

prep: 10 mins cook: 35 mins additional: 2 hrs total: 2 hrs 45 mins Servings: 12 Yield: 1 – 1 1/2 pound loaf

Ingredients:

¼ cup unsweetened applesauce

1 egg

½ cup milk

2 teaspoons active dry yeast

¼ teaspoon salt

3 cups bread flour

¼ cup honey

½ teaspoon ground cardamom

Instructions:

Place ingredients into the pan of your bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select the Dough cycle and press Start.

When the bread machine indicates that the cycle has ended, remove the dough, and knead slightly. Form into a loaf shape, and place into a greased 9×5 inch bread pan. Cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 45 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Uncover the loaf, and brush the top with water. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until nicely browned, and the loaf makes a hollow sound when tapped on the bottom. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan. Cool for about 1 hour before slicing.
