How to cook with cheese
There are a variety of ways to cook with cheese, and each one will give your dish a unique flavor. Here are a few of the most popular methods:
- Grated cheese: This is probably the most common way to cook with cheese, and it’s a great way to add flavor and texture to your dish. Grated cheese can be added to sauces, soups, pasta dishes, or casseroles.
- Cheese sauce: A cheese sauce is a great way to add richness and creaminess to your dish. It’s perfect for pasta dishes, chicken breasts, or steamed vegetables.
- Shredded cheese: Shredded cheese is a great way to add a cheesy topping to your dish. It’s delicious on top of baked potatoes, tacos or burritos, sandwiches, and much more.
- Melted cheese: Melted cheese can make your dish incredibly rich and decadent. It’s perfect for grilled cheeses (of course), casseroles, steaks, quesadillas, or gooey macaroni and cheese.
Cheese and wine pairings
Cheese and wine pairings are a great way to enjoy both of these substances. Cheese can be paired with a variety of different wines, and experimentation is the key to finding the perfect combinations.
There are a few general guidelines to follow when pairing cheese with wine:
- Sweet wines should be paired with sweet cheeses, like brie or camembert.
- Dry whites go well with soft cheeses, like feta or goat cheese.
- Dry reds are perfect for strong cheeses, like cheddar or Parmesan.
- Sparkling wines are great with any type of cheese.
When trying out new combinations, it’s important to taste the cheese and wine separately first. Once you have a good idea of what each tastes like on its own, it’ll be easier to pair them together.
