- 8 small onions yellow or white
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- 6 cups water
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 4 fresh thyme sprigs
- 1½ cups heavy whipping cream
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- 2 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley
Preheat the OvenPreheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
Simmer the OnionsPeel and trim onions. Simmer in salted boiling water for 20 minutes until tender. Drain and let cool slightly.
Arrange in Baking DishCut onions in half and place cut-side down in the baking dish. Add thyme sprigs between the onions.
Add Cream and SeasoningPour heavy cream over the onions and sprinkle with pepper.
BakeBake uncovered for 20-25 minutes, until bubbling and golden.
Garnish and ServeRemove thyme sprigs, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
