Ingredients
  

  • 4 large green tomatoes
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornmeal
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 2 teaspoons coarse kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 quart vegetable oil

Instructions
 

  • Slice the tomatoes into ½-inch thick slices.
  • Whisk eggs and milk in a bowl. Place flour on a plate. Mix cornmeal, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper on another plate.
  • Dip each tomato slice in flour, then in the egg mixture, and finally in the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry tomato slices in batches, 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  • Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
