about 2.5 lbs, peeled and cubed

butter

ground cinnamon

ground ginger

black pepper

ground cloves

ground nutmeg
Zest of 1 orange
Salt
to taste

molasses
honey, or brown sugar

heavy cream or half & half
Instructions
Peel and chop sweet potatoes. Boil in water until fork-tender, 15-20 minutes. Drain.
Melt butter and stir in spices, orange zest, and ½ teaspoon salt.
Mash sweet potatoes with the spiced butter mixture.
Stir in molasses and cream. Taste and adjust seasoning.
Serve warm with optional toppings like toasted pecans or maple syrup.
