12 oz pasta penne or rigatoni 1 lb ground pork or beef 1 cup sauerkraut rinsed and drained 1 onion diced 2 cloves garlic minced 1 can 14 oz crushed tomatoes 2 tablespoon tomato paste 1 cup shredded mozzarella 1 cup sharp cheddar 1 teaspoon paprika Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cook pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a skillet, sauté onion and garlic in oil. Add ground meat, cooking until browned.
Stir in sauerkraut, tomato paste, and crushed tomatoes. Simmer 10 minutes.
Layer half pasta, meat mixture, and cheese in a baking dish. Repeat.
Bake for 25 minutes covered, uncover, and bake for another 10 minutes.
